The Story So Far

When tape was the only game in town Vicia Faba were keen players. An ancient Elizabethan valve tape recorder nearer the end of its life was customised to include two additional heads which were fed to an amplifier and mixed in with the tape output - result- instant echo. The tape recorder eventually lost its piano key controls. The rubber topped levers inside where then the only means of controlling the machine. It was replaced with a secondhand Akai 4000ds which provided Vicia Faba with sound-on-sound as the manual termed it.

The second phase of the VF evolution began after a long search for inspiration in the ways of that which is a mystery to us all - the soul.
The pilgramage ended and a four track cassette tape machine was purchased - and work began exploring the possibilites, after all George Martin record The Beatles SPLHCB on four track.
